Last night Tears For Fears finished up their month-long US tour that started on May 20th in Cincinatti, Ohio. They will be starting their UK tour July 1st in Telford, UK. If I could choose one song that reflects how I am feeling at this moment, It’s the End of Night comes to mind off of their new album The Tipping Point.

Mistral came along just like a hurricane
Blew down all the walls and gave me life again
Turned the world around
Blinded me with sound (and there’s no other way)

Took my hand and led me through the labyrinth
Showed me all the sadness and the suffering
Tears she turned to joy
And through the wall of noise told me”

No need to worry about the world (about the world)
You can’t see the beauty for all the hurt (for all the hurt)
Turn the world around (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Blind them with your sound
‘Cause it’s the end of night

Mistral came into my lifе like a wind of change
Crept in through my eyes and seepеd inside my brain
When stars were growing dim
She showed me the world within and told me

No need to worry about the world (about the world)
You can’t see the beauty for all the hurt (for all the hurt)
Turn the world around (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Blind them with your sound
‘Cause it’s the end of night

This must be the end of night
This must be the end of night

I am a Tears For Fears Travel Fan. Some of you may not know that such a group even exists. I can proclaim that we come from all corners of the world, different backgrounds, different lifestyles, different upbringings, different life experiences and yet our love for the music of Tears For Fears brought us all together. Music is a beautiful thing, isn’t it?

The last two years have been difficult for so many. I have gone through my own personal challenges. Some of these experiences have not always been sunshine and sunflowers. However, I am here to tell you that even through difficult situations there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. All you need is a little faith, friends, Garbage and Tears For Fears.

I was a TFF Travel Fan before I even knew it was an actual thing. I did not see my first Tears For Fears concert until July of 2009 and have always had to travel to see them. Fast forward to 2019, the TFF Travel Fans connected me with fans from the UK for my solo trip to see Tears For Fears in Killarney and Dublin, Ireland. That led to another trip to England for three more concerts the summer of 2019, which led to meeting more lovely people and the start of BunnyLou’s Adventures. Before the world locked down in 2020, I went back to the UK to visit my TFF Family in Bath, England, took a day trip to Durdle Door and hung out at Moles Nightclub a few nights. I am so thankful for the many wonderful friendships with people I may have never had the opportunity to meet otherwise all thanks to Tears For Fears. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I believe that this tour was no exception.

I had set out to see 8 shows: opening night in Cincinatti, Denver, LA, Chula Vista/San Diego, Tampa, Atlanta, Chicago and Indianapolis. Many of the shows I attended were on weekends, so I was able to take paid time off and work two days a week for the last month when I wasn’t traveling across the US. I am so grateful for those who helped me navigate new travel plans a few weeks before the tour started. There was a point when I didn’t know if I was going to be able to go to any of the shows due to circumstances out of my control. I struggled with the TFF curse during this tour. IYKYK. Unfortunately, my Tears For Fears journey ended after 6 shows due to coming down with Covid.

I have had some people ask me why I wanted to see Tears For Fears so many times. For me, not only is it about the music but about the community and lifelong connections I have made. Each city I visited and each concert I attended was a brand-new experience. I was reunited with friends I haven’t seen in over two years due to covid and travel restrictions. I met people I have been friends with on social media but never met in person for the first time. I made new friends, shared special memories, some of which I will never forget. I got to sing, dance and shake my ass every single show. Sometimes I was the only person standing in my section. I sang every word to every song. I cried to songs that hold a special place in my heart. I smiled, laughed, felt at peace and had the best time of my life. I cannot explain it to anyone who does not understand, and it really makes no difference if they don’t. This is my Tears For Fears journey. I cannot wait to see what the future holds. I am living my best life. I haven’t always felt this way. It’s been a long time coming. Thank you Tears For Fears from the bottom of my heart.

A special thank you to the Curry’s, Andye, Bobby, Roland, Tania, Patty, Julian, John B, Kimberly, Bill L., Stephen, Sean, Ann, Paula, Dion, Gwen, Darren, Danny, Mike and anyone else I may have forgotten to mention. Y’all made the past month the best yet whether you were with me in person or checking in from afar. Thank you! I’m blessed to have you as a part of my family, my TFF Family.
