I took a half day off work, packed up Miss Freckles for her overnight boarding adventure, and hit the road with my Priscilla Block playlist on blast—new tracks, old favorites, all the feels. The sun was shining, the vibe was right, and I was headed to Chattanooga for The Things You Didn’t See Tour.
My GPS had other plans. I thought I was en route to the hotel, but it took me straight to The Signal—the venue where Priscilla was playing. Turns out, that detour worked in my favor. I scoped out parking early and got a lay of the land before heading to my hotel near Lookout Mountain. Fun twist: I’d stayed at the Hotel Chalet back in August with my sister for a birthday girls’ trip. Chattanooga’s becoming a bit of a tradition.
Before check-in, I made a quick Walgreens stop for a cheetah print headband—my low-effort nod to Halloween. I’ve never been big on dressing up for the holiday, but the headband felt festive enough.
Now, let’s talk about the jackets. I’d spent the last few weekends designing custom Queen of Hearts-themed jackets for Priscilla and Kara, inspired by the album release party and my induction as the fourth member of the Queen Club. I messaged Kara for sizing, gathered all the details, and poured my heart into each stitch. I even made one for myself. At VIP check-in, I handed off the tote bags with the jackets to Kara. The security guy wasn’t thrilled about the gifts—radioed someone to make sure it was okay—but it all worked out.
VIP came with a special lanyard, a cute tote bag (thank goodness, because I ended up buying merch), and a signed poster after the photo op with Priscilla. I snagged a new hat and sweatshirt at the merch table, even though I’d already ordered the concert tee and keychain online. I hadn’t planned to buy anything, but… tote bag magic.
The pre-show was intimate and soulful. Priscilla performed “Miami, My Amy” and “Little Bit” with her guitarist—two songs that hit me right in the heart. She answered fan questions before we lined up for photos.
Her opening act, Greylen James, was a pleasant surprise. I hadn’t heard of him before, but he’s written for other artists and held his own on stage.
Then came Priscilla. She lit up the stage in silver sequined pants and a Dollywood shirt, channeling Dolly Parton with every sparkle. Her band—the Block Party Band—dressed as country legends: Willie Nelson, Keith Whitley, Kacey Musgraves and Luke Bryan. Later, Priscilla transformed into full Dolly mode: wig, tied shirt, blue jeans. She sang every single from her new album, mixed in hits from her first EP, and even covered Shania Twain and John Michael Montgomery.

Her voice? Flawless. Her energy? Electric. The setlist was a perfect blend of heartbreak, sass, nostalgia, and empowerment. After the show, she came down to the barrier and signed items for fans. I was lucky enough to get my new hat signed. It was the perfect end to a perfect night.
If you haven’t seen Priscilla live, check out her tour schedule at http://www.priscillablock.com. Milwaukee and Minneapolis friends—she’s headed your way soon! Milwaukee November 6th and Minneapolis November 14th with Cole Swindell.
What I love most about Priscilla is her no-nonsense authenticity. Her lyrics speak to me, especially Things You Didn’t See. It’s wild how people think they know your story when they’ve only seen the surface. A few folks asked who I came with. I said, “Just me.” And I said it without hesitation or feeling embarrassed. I used to feel awkward about going solo, but not anymore. If I want to do something, I’ll do it—alone or not.
Living in Nashville has been a gift, even if making friends while working from home has its challenges. I keep hoping I’ll meet kindred spirits at one of these shows. Until then, I’ll keep showing up, creating, and celebrating the music and people who move me.
Kara and Priscilla, if you’re reading this—I hope you loved your jackets. They were made with heart, soul, and a whole lot of love.
