✨ Back to Reality, But Grateful Beyond Words

Tomorrow it’s back to the grind, but my heart is still full from an unforgettable week off—one that reminded me just how important it is to pause, celebrate, and soak up the moments that matter. My sister came to town, and together we packed in so much joy, laughter, and adventure. She helped me ring in my 55th birthday, and honestly… I still can’t believe I’m 55. I don’t feel it, and I probably don’t act it either—but that’s perfectly fine by me. At this stage in life, I’ve earned the right to be unapologetically myself. No more worrying about what anyone else thinks. I am who I am, and I’m proud of it.

🎉 Nashville Adventures & Birthday Magic

We kicked things off with a stroll down Broadway, exploring all the new spots that have popped up since her last visit in December. It’s wild how much has changed! We checked out Dolly’s Wine Bar, Post Malone’s new place called Posty’s, and The Show Pony—where I got to ride a horse (highlight of the day, IYKYK 😂). We also stopped by Jelly Roll’s and Category 10, catching some great live music and sampling delicious bites. We started our day before noon and wrapped up by 5pm—because let’s be honest, it’s always best to beat the riff raff.

Sunday was all about country music nostalgia. We visited the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum to see the Dolly Parton and Lainey Wilson exhibits, followed by lunch at Edley’s in 12 South and a little retail therapy. A perfect day from start to finish.

🚗 Road Trip to Chattanooga & Georgia Gems

Monday, we hit the road to Chattanooga, taking the scenic route through some truly beautiful areas. First stop: North Georgia Premium Outlets, where I finally laid eyes on a pair of Burberry trainers I’ve always dreamed of. Even with the outlet discount, they were still out of my tax bracket—but Tory Burch came through with some fabulous options. I’ve grown to love that brand… maybe it’s the logo, maybe it’s the “T” connection. Either way, I’m a fan.

We made a detour to HMart, a massive Asian supermarket that also sells cosmetics and home goods. We got swept up in the Labubu craze—only to discover we’d actually snagged Lafufu’s instead. Still fun!

Our stay at the Hotel Chalet in Chattanooga was a treat. It’s right by the iconic Chattanooga Choo Choo, and while they offer train car rooms, we opted for a regular one this time. Tuesday morning was foggy, but we braved the incline up to Lookout Mountain and explored the Chickamauga and Chattanooga battlefield. Rock City stole our hearts with its winding trails, Lovers Leap, and the breathtaking view where you can see seven states on a clear day. The weather cleared just in time. Ruby Falls was next—an underground cave hike leading to a stunning waterfall. If you’re claustrophobic, maybe skip it, but I found the rock formations mesmerizing.

🎬 Lights, Camera, Country!

Back in Nashville, we had a super early call time to be extras on the upcoming Nashville 911 TV show, airing October 9th. We were part of a country concert scene featuring Kane Brown. What was supposed to be a 4–5 hour shoot turned into 7 hours in the blazing heat. They had water but no shade, so we left before the final scene. If you’ve ever been on a set, you know—TV tapings are never on schedule. Still, it was a cool experience, and I’m glad my sister got to be part of it.

💛 Life Lessons & Looking Ahead

This week reminded me of something I’ve known for years but needed to feel again: take the time to do what brings you joy. Don’t wait. Don’t assume you’ll have time later. Life is unpredictable, and we were reminded of that with an unexpected loss. So book the trip. Buy the tickets. Celebrate everything. Live fully.

I’m hopeful this will be my best year yet. There’s so much to look forward to in the coming months, and I’ve got my fingers crossed for an opportunity I’ve been dreaming about for years. My next visitor arrives next week—funny how they always come back-to-back instead of spaced out, but I’m excited nonetheless.

Here’s to more adventures, more laughter, and more moments that make life beautiful. 🌻🦋

  1. Tory Burch ya say? That tracks given Curt’s Lady FP is behind the scenes running things for the brand. I’ve got several of her earrings and a bag next to me right now. When I reorganise my life and my health is stable I hope to invest in them a bit more.

    Many hugs!! Great post!!!
